Filmmaker Prakash Mehra had seen a TV drama of Raj Babbar and was impressed by his acting.
Prakash Mehra invited Raj Babbar to Delhi’s Hotel Ashok, this is when Raj Babbar learned that Mehra wanted to involve him in his new project.
Raj tells Mehra that he needs to stay in Mumbai for a year as he sold his scooter and gave his wife Nadra 6,000 when he was coming here and said to spend 500 rupees every month.
It happened that the film with Mehra never got made but Raj Babbar got an opportunity to work in the film ‘Punjabi Feature Chan Pardesi’.
