Virginia: A book taken out of a library in the US was returned almost 43 years later.
The Newport News Public Library in the US state of Virginia said in an Instagram post that the unusual discovery was recently made in the ‘return drop box’ at the library’s Grissom Library branch.
AJP Taylor’s book ‘How Wars Began’ was due back on March 23, 1980.
Library staff did not receive anything with the book that would indicate why the return of the book was delayed.
The post said the library did not have checkout records that would show who checked out the book. However, the librarian was thanked by the library.
