Out of the new budget of 14 thousand 460 billion rupees presented by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in the National Assembly session, 3 billion rupees have been allocated for artists.
In this regard, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb wrote on the micro-blogging website Twitter that I am very happy to announce that for the first time funds have been allocated for both the film finance fund and the health insurance of artists.
He wrote that 2 billion rupees have been allocated for the film finance fund and 1 billion rupees for the health insurance of artists.
The Federal Minister says that I am sure that these initiatives will jointly contribute to the development of our film industry and the welfare of the artists of our country.
Maryam Aurangzeb has also said at the end of her tweet that it will play a key role in promoting Pakistan’s narrative, heritage and culture through films as well as promoting screen tourism in Pakistan.
