Three people died in Karachi during five days from Nagliria

Karachi: During the last five days in Karachi, the mind-eating germ Nigelaria killed three people, including a woman.

According to the Sindh Health Department, three deaths have been reported in Karachi during the last five days, a 32-year-old woman named Gulshan from Qayyumabad died on May 24, a 45-year-old resident of Sarjani, Muhammad Asif, and a 19-year-old resident of Sadar died on May 26. Zahir Shah passed away on May 28.

According to Director General Health Services Karachi, Dr. Abdul Hameed Jumani, three deaths have occurred due to Naegleria this year, while five people have died from the brain-eating bacteria last year.

DG Health Services said symptoms of Naegleria include headache, fever, nausea, vomiting, neck stiffness, altered mental status and seizures. Add chlorine to municipal water tanks to protect against the deadly bacteria Nigellaria.
