Renowned musician and music producer Rohail Hayat has started a campaign to provide financial support to singer Asad Abbas, who is suffering from kidney disease.
Singer Asad Abbas who was a part of Coke Studio Season 6 has to undergo dialysis three to four times a week and 13 to 14 times a month due to kidney failure.
Rohail Hayat has informed friends and fans on her Facebook account about singer Asad Abbas’s ill health.
He wrote in his post, “The very talented folk singer Asad Abbas, who also appeared in season 6 of Coke Studio, desperately needs our support. Whoever wants to help him, our thoughts and prayers are with him. , Thanks’.
It may be noted that Asad Abbas appeared in Coke Studio Season 6 opposite Fareeha Parvez for the song ‘Mahi Gul’ which is a folk song based on ‘Raag Malhar’.
The track was among the most acclaimed songs of the season and was the first to feature many international artists.
Asad Abbas inherited music from his grandfathers, Muhammad Sadiq and Muhammad Iqbal, pioneers of folk music in Pakistan who sang together since the inception of Radio Pakistan.
Apart from this, Asad Abbas’s brother, Ali Abbas and cousin Amanat Ali are also famous folk and contemporary artists.
