California: YouTube Music has introduced a new feature that makes it easy to find out whether a song you’re looking for is a cover of an original song or a live recording.
This new feature was first spotted by a user of the social networking platform Reddit. When a user searched for a song, the results showed the labels ‘live’ and ‘cover’ along with the artist’s name, indicating that the song was not original.
These labels resemble the long-used ‘e’ label on the app (the label that appears next to songs that use foul language).
However, these labels will only be visible in the search results of the song. These labels will not appear when playing a song or within a community playlist.
Moreover, these labels will not be visible in the album where this song is present.
