New Delhi: India’s Modi government has imported 24 billion dollars worth of military weapons and war equipment during the last five years in an extreme war frenzy.
According to Indian media, Deputy Defense Minister Ajay Bhatt said in the Parliament that during the last five years, helicopters, aircraft radars, rockets, guns, missiles worth about 24 billion rupees from other countries including America, Russia, France, Israel and Spain. And bought rifles.
The Minister of Defense further said that 264 contracts were signed with different companies of different countries for the purchase of fighter planes, helicopters and war equipment in the last five years.
Ajay Bhatt also said that the Indian Army has now initiated most of the weapons manufacturing at the local level, with more than 50 projects underway.
A Times of India report claims that India is ahead of Russia and the UK as the country that spends the most money on building up military and defense capabilities.
It should be noted that India’s defense budget is the highest after the US and China.
