World-renowned Pakistani singer and actor Ali Zafar has expressed concern over the country’s deteriorating economic situation.
Ali Zafar has shared an analysis of Pakistani-American economist Atif Mian on the current economic situation of Pakistan on the micro-blogging website Twitter.
Sharing the economist’s analysis, he wrote, “This is a brief analysis of the economic situation, which is very disturbing, may Allah help us.”
In the tweet shared by Atif Mian, the singer has compared the current economic situation of Pakistan with the economic situation of Ghana and Sri Lanka in the last two years.
He said that Ghana and Sri Lanka have officially gone bankrupt in the last two years but Pakistan has not, but despite this, Pakistan’s currency has seen more depreciation than Sri Lanka and Ghana.
He further stated that the value of the currencies of Ghana and Sri Lanka stabilized after the commencement of the restructuring programmes.
In his tweet, Atif Mian blamed the current government’s insensitive economic policy for Pakistan’s deteriorating economic situation.
