An awareness walk and seminar was held on World High Blood Pressure Day at the Karachi Institute of Hard Diseases of Baldia Uzmi Karachi.

Medical experts said that 20 to 30 percent of the world’s population is suffering from hypertension.

At the Karachi Institute of Hard Diseases (KIHD) under Baldia Uzmi Karachi, an awareness walk and seminar was held on the occasion of World Blood Pressure Day in which civil society members including doctors participated.

The event was started with an awareness walk. Later in the seminar, Executive Director Karachi Institute of Hard Disease Dr. Rafat Sultana said that blood pressure is very common. Unfortunately, people do not treat it with respect. Like antibiotics, people take medicines for this disease, but as soon as the blood pressure comes down, they stop taking the medicine again. We have also held a question and answer session between medical experts and civil society so that medical experts can create awareness among the public about this condition.

He said that there is a need to improve the quality of daily life, if one adheres to the medication as prescribed by the doctor, then this disease will definitely not remain untreated. It is a silent killer that has negative effects on the heart and mind. are compiled. It also leads to heart attack, stroke and vision loss. Therefore, it is important to bring the patient to the hospital immediately if the condition becomes serious, while home remedies can prove dangerous in such a situation.

Professor Mansoor Ahmed said that the biggest disease in the world is high blood pressure. 20 to 30 percent of the world’s adult population is suffering from this disease, which means that one to one and a half billion people in the world are suffering from this disease.
