Oscar-winning film-maker Sherman Obaid Chanay while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Pink People’s Bus Service termed it as the best initiative.
Pink People’s Bus Service has been inaugurated in Karachi for the first time by the Government of Sindh to provide convenience to women.
Various personalities including Sharmeen Obaid Chanay participated in the inauguration ceremony.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Oscar-winning filmmaker Sherman Obaid Chanay said that this is the best initiative for the women of Karachi.
He added that we want this bus to run on different routes as well.
It should be noted that today Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has formally started the pink bus service with women in Karachi. This bus will run every 20 minutes during office hours and every hour after office hours.
In the first phase, pink bus service is being run from Model Colony to Tower. These buses have 24 seats, 2 seats are for special persons. In total, the bus has a total capacity of 50 women.
