Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has visited Kherson and Luhansk, two Ukrainian regions conquered in the war.
World media reports said with reference to the Russian Presidency of the Kremlin that Russian President Vladimir Putin has visited them after the annexation of two regions of Ukraine, Kherson and Luhansk.
Putin met with military commanders in both regions, the Kremlin said in a statement. Putin met with the commanders of the forces’ headquarters in southern Ukraine’s Kherson region and the National Guard commanders in eastern Ukraine’s Luhansk region to discuss combat strategies in those areas.
Moscow formally annexed Kherson, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and Donetsk last fall after local referendums that were rejected by the US and its Western allies. However, Russian forces have only partially taken control of the areas since the announcement.
Also, this is Putin’s second visit to the annexed territories in two months, having previously visited Mariupol, Donetsk region, last month.
