Stanford: Good news for cancer treatment comes from Stanford University, where scientists have eradicated advanced skin cancer in mice with a genetically modified bacteria.

In this way, by changing the bacteria found in the skin of living organisms, the way to treat cancer has been paved. This bacteria is commonly found in the shed skin of rats called ‘Staphylococcus epidermidis’. Once mutated, the bacteria became a weapon against skin cancer and virtually eradicated the cancer. No irritation and no side effects were noted in the process.

This work has been done by Dr. Michael Fischbach and his colleagues, which they describe as a magical process. According to him, there were severe cancerous tumors on the skin of the rat. All we did was put a colony of genetically modified bacteria on a cotton swab and rub it on the skin. The bacteria then targeted the cancerous abscess itself.

But upon consideration, it was found that CD8 T cells are found deep in the skin, which are the body’s defense cells. They also fight cancer and ward off many diseases. Specialists injected bacteria and the cancerous tumors began to disappear on their own.

However, further research is ongoing and it is expected that if there is great success, it may be possible to eliminate human skin cancer in the same way.
