Islamabad: A private airline plane narrowly escaped an accident at the New Islamabad International Airport. After the inspection, the crashed plane has been declared as ‘aircraft in ground’.
According to the statement released by the Civil Aviation spokesperson, the pilot of Qatar Airways Flight 614 decided to delay the first landing due to strong winds on the Islamabad Airport runway.
The pilot preferred a “go around” over an unstable landing and alerted the tower, the second time the aircraft landed safely, however, inspection revealed scratches on the tail of the aircraft, as per SOPs, the pilot’s blood and urine samples were obtained. Done.
Airbus Company has also been informed about the Qatar Airways 614 tail strike incident. Aircraft engineers have declared the aircraft AOG (Aircraft in Ground) after inspection.
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Board (AIIB), tasked with investigating airworthiness and aircraft accidents, also inspected the aircraft and a detailed report is being prepared.
The airline has shifted the passengers of QTR 615 to the hotel. There were 277 passengers including the crew in the plane.
