It also said that China respects the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Afghanistan, the free choice of the Afghan people, and the religious beliefs and national customs of Afghanistan. China will never interfere in the internal affairs of Afghanistan and will never seek selfishness or influence over Afghanistan.
Moreover, China supports a moderate and wise governance in Afghanistan and hopes that Afghanistan will build a comprehensive political structure and adopt moderate and far-sighted domestic and foreign policies. In addition, the Afghan Interim Government will protect the fundamental rights and interests of all citizens, including women, children, minority and ethnic groups.
The statement also said that in order to help Afghanistan achieve independent and sustainable development, China will continue to do its best for Afghanistan’s reconstruction and development, fulfill aid commitments, continue economic, trade and investment. It will promote development and contribute to the reduction of medical care, poverty alleviation, agriculture, and natural disaster prevention and other problems.
Furthermore, China welcomes Afghanistan’s participation in the Belt and Road Cooperation and supports Afghanistan’s integration into regional economic cooperation and connectivity, which will transform it from a “land-locked country” to a “land-linked country”.
