Karachi: The new artificial intelligence program “GPT model” that reacts to human behavior has caused a stir in the scientific and non-scientific fields and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan has taken steps to deal with some of its negative effects.

This model also includes expert style factors, including answering questions, commenting on topics and specializing in articles, summaries and translations, which the leading search engine Google is unable to offer.

Based on this, on one hand, this model has surprised the experts associated with other professions including IT, while on the other hand, the students, especially at the level of universities, have become silver with the introduction of the GPT model.

Its use has become so common among students at the university level that students studying in different disciplines and fields are writing theses and making their assignments using this model.

It is reported that even the software available at HEC for identifying plagiarism in thesaurusing cannot identify the text written by the GPT model, while the response of this model to any question is so fast that There is no need to use Google in theses writing or any type of assignments.

“Express” spoke to the Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed in this regard and said that this matter has come to the knowledge of HEC and the IT department has been asked to present a strategy to remedy it. How to stop misuse of this new dimension of artificial intelligence.

Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed also said that if we cannot find a solution immediately, then we can recommend PTA to stop or limit its use in the country, but this will be the last option.

It is worth noting that the GPT model is a chat model that allows any person to give their opinion on a topic in the world through regular conversation, provide information in their own words and further improve and detail the questions asked regarding this information. has the ability to present with, due to which its use has increased not only among students but also among teachers at the level of colleges and universities.

In addition, regarding its use in various industries, when “Express” talked to Uroj Zaidi, director of a foreign IT software company, he said that now industries are going to be automated, in which Jet GPT can play a major role, however automating industries will also reduce the need for manpower thus benefiting industries but causing hardship to the working common man.

It should be noted that along with various fields or professions, teachers also have reservations about its use in educational institutions. Dr. Farhan Siddiqui, a faculty member of the Computer Science Department of the University of Karachi, says in this regard that chat GPT has both positive and negative effects in the industry and educational institutions.

He further said that now the semester has started, there will be a better understanding at the time of exams and assignments whether the assignments and writings are the students’ own mental creations or they have used ChatGPT in their preparation.

Dr. Farhan Siddiqui said that the biggest challenge is thesis writing because this model has the ability to paraphrase the material.
