Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reached Peshawar where he called an emergency meeting on the police lines blast.

According to Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reached Peshawar where he has called an emergency meeting and the officials of all relevant institutions after the tragic incident of Peshawar.

According to Maryam Aurangzeb, the meeting chaired by the Prime Minister regarding law and order will consider the motivations of today’s terrorist incident, and a preliminary investigation report on the incident will be presented in the meeting.

Earlier, strongly condemning the terrorist suicide attack in the mosque of Police Lines Peshawar, the Prime Minister further said that the brutal killing of Muslims while prostrating before Allah is against the Quranic teachings. Targeting the House of Allah is proof that the attackers have nothing to do with Islam. Terrorists want to create fear by targeting those who are doing the duty of defending Pakistan.

The Prime Minister said that those who fight against Pakistan will be erased from the page. He expressed his determination that those who shed the blood of citizens unjustly will be made a lesson. In his statement, the Prime Minister further said that the entire nation and institutions are one and united to end terrorism. The nation salutes its martyrs.

He said that a comprehensive strategy will be adopted on the deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Federation will support the provinces in enhancing their counter-terrorism capacity.

The Prime Minister directed the Federal Interior Minister to provide assistance in increasing the capacity of the provinces, especially the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). The Prime Minister has prayed for the martyrs of the suicide blast in Police Lines Mosque in Peshawar, patience for the families and speedy recovery of the injured.
