California: NASA has announced sending a spacecraft to an important asteroid and it is being said that the total value of precious metals on this asteroid is more than 70 thousand times the total annual economy of the entire planet.

Although NASA has wanted to send its spacecraft near the asteroid since 2017, the project has been stalled several times. The name of this meteorite is 16 Psyche and it is expected that a spacecraft will be sent to Psyche in October this year. After a long journey, it will touch down on the asteroid in August 2029.

It was discovered in 1852 by the Italian astronomer Annie Bell de Gasparis, also a failed potato-shaped planet. Its area is 140 miles. It should be noted that it is located between the famous asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.

American research in 2020 found that it is made of zinc (nickel) and steel, and other precious metals are present, while most asteroids are made of rock and ice. According to NASA expert Lindy Elkins, the steel and other precious metals contained in it are worth ten thousand quadrillion dollars. However, another group of scientists does not consider it so valuable.

That’s why NASA plans to send a spacecraft to end the debate. But according to experts, its scientific secrets are more important than gold and silver. 16 Research on Psyche itself will help us to understand the evolution of the solar system and its other aspects.
