Florida: Due to the increasing number of shootings in educational institutions in America, bulletproof rooms were started to be built in schools.
According to the world news agency, the rooms of a school in the American state of Alabama were made bulletproof. This is a first-of-its-kind experiment aimed at saving children’s lives from any potential attack.
The classroom walls are bulletproofed so that under normal conditions they look like whiteboards but can transform into a protective wall in just 10 seconds in the event of an attack.
Bulletproof walls built in two rooms of an Alabama school cost $60,000, including sensitive and expensive cameras for monitoring.
In the past five years, more than 100 students and teachers have been killed and dozens more injured in school shootings in the United States.
Five years ago, in February 2018, a 19-year-old ex-student went on a rampage at a school in Florida, killing 17 students and teachers.
Since this incident, consideration has been going on to protect school children from such incidents in America.
