During the launch of the Urdu poetry album ‘Shaerana-Sartaj’, well-known author, script writer and poet Javed Akhtar emphasized the importance of Urdu.
Javed Akhtar said that Urdu did not come from any other region, it is our own language.
He said that Punjab has many services for Urdu language, but why are you abandoning this language? Because of the split?
Javed Akhtar said that attention should be given to Urdu, today’s youth speak less Urdu and Hindi, more attention is given to English.
He said that languages come into existence on the basis of regions and not on religion, for example, if there was a language based on religion in Europe, only one language would be spoken.
