Motorway Police thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of arms near Motorway M1 Burhan.
According to the police, the recovered weapons could have been used in a terrorist act. Motorway police near Burhan flagged down a suspicious vehicle but the accused tried to escape, police said.
According to the Motorway Police, the accused managed to escape by leaving the car, while a huge amount of weapons were recovered after searching the vehicle.
According to the police, recovered weapons include 81 30 bore pistols, 72 9 mm pistols, one MM 14, 2700 SMG bullets, 9700 30 bore bullets, 165 magazines.
The police said that the accused were bringing weapons from Peshawar while raids are being conducted to search for the accused.
