San Francisco: WhatsApp has started considering another option for the convenience of the users, under which it will be easy to ‘silence or mute’ calls from unknown and suspicious numbers.

This option will work for one or many numbers but the user will be able to see those numbers while blocking does not. Similarly, those numbers will also appear in the notification. WhatsApp’s internal news website ‘Web Beta Info’ has reported that this option is currently being worked on. However, its trial or beta version may take some time.

This feature could have many benefits including women in particular being able to silence calls from unknown people, while also preventing cold calling for business and marketing purposes which is very common in the US. According to WhatsApp, its purpose is to protect people from frequent phone intrusions.

However, nothing has been said about its implementation so far. It is supposed to be activated from the main menu. The number will be displayed but the call can be muted.
