Tehran: Hundreds of female students were deliberately poisoned in a regular campaign to close down girls’ schools in the Iranian city of Qom, many of whom were seriously ill.
According to the World News Agency, Iran’s health authority has confirmed that hundreds of female students were poisoned in recent months in the city of Qom to discredit girls’ schools and thus close them.
In a statement issued by the health authority, it has been said that this poison was given to mostly ten-year-old girls, among whom several were admitted to the hospital due to worsening of their condition and thus this matter came to light.
The statement said that behind the poisoning of female students are evil elements who are against girls’ education and want to scare parents away from schools with such actions.
Iran’s Ministry of Education has formed an inquiry committee on this matter, but no arrests have been made so far and there is no report of death of any female student due to poisoning.
It should be noted that during the investigation it has been proved that this poisoning was the result of chemical compounds and these are not the chemical compounds used by the army.
