Vehicles recovered from Landi Kotal, Charsadda and Peshawar, two car lifters arrested
Police of Rawalpindi’s New Town police station recovered the official double cabin vehicle of Provincial Education Minister Gilgit Balistan Ghulam Shahzad Agha, which was stolen from D Block Satellite Town, and arrested the accused.
The accused belong to an organized group of car thieves from whose possession six other vehicles have also been recovered.
Provincial Minister of Education Gilgit Balistan Ghulam Shehzad Agha’s official double cabin Vigo vehicle was stolen from outside his residence in D Block Satellite Town in March 2024.
The police team traced the active inter-district gang of car thieves through CCTV footage from closed circuit cameras and human intelligence and raided the gang members Yasir and Tariq in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Landi Kotal, Charsadda and Peshawar in Rawalpindi. etc. and recovered six other vehicles including the stolen official vehicle of the Provincial Minister of Education.
The accused wanted to take the provincial minister’s car out of Rawalpindi and move it to Landi Kotal so that the sit-in would take place. After stealing the double cabin vehicles, the accused used to deliver them to Lindi Kotal and Charsadda for Rs 7 to 8 lakh and Mehran cars for Rs 2 to 2.5 lakh.
