Texas: Scientists have developed the first flexible electrical skin that can be applied to robots and feel like human skin.

This new flexible e-book, developed by researchers at the University of Texas in the US, solves a major problem facing the emerging technology. The materials used in current e-skin technology are flexible but cannot be felt like human skin. However, this new version of the volume has made up for this shortcoming.

Professor Nanshu Lu, head of the research from the Cockerill School of Engineering, said that the skin should be flexible enough to facilitate the movements of the human body, so it is also an electric skin. No matter how much this new skin is stretched, it does not change as a result of the pressure and this is a great achievement.

Nenshu Lu sees this electric skin as an important component for the robot’s hands, which has the potential to give these hands the flexibility and sensitivity of a human hand. This could be applied in the field of medicine where robots can check a patient’s pulse, clean a wound or massage the body.
