Order to send Advocate Zahid Mehmood Gurayah to Jail
The Chief Justice of Lahore High Court Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan, while delivering a major verdict, issued a sentence of 6 months imprisonment to the lawyer who misbehaved with the judge of the High Court.
The Chief Justice ordered to send Advocate Zahid Mahmood Gurayah to jail after being found guilty of contempt of court and also imposed a fine of Rs.
The court rejected the plea of the lawyer to adjourn the proceedings till after Eid. The lawyer who misbehaved with Justice Sultan Tanveer folded his hands in front of the Chief Justice and said that I am seeking forgiveness from the court.
The Chief Justice recorded the statements of three witnesses. President Lahore High Court Bar also requested to pardon the lawyer. The Chief Justice said that the president should ask forgiveness from Allah, I am a weak man.
Justice Sultan Tanveer Ahmed sent a reference for contempt of court against Advocate Zahid Mahmood Goraya to the Chief Justice, in which it was said that Zahid Mahmood Guraya kept shouting in the court of Justice Sultan Tanveer, he spoke very insultingly and disrespectfully about the court and the bench. Accusations were made.
