After 16 years, record heavy rain in Gwadar, conditions worsen

Quetta: After 16 years in Gwadar city of Balochistan, after record heavy rains in February, the situation worsened, the life system is affected by urban flooding.

According to the Meteorological Department, under the western system, Gwadar has recorded the highest rainfall of 125 mm so far in the month of February.

In 2008, Gwadar recorded 38 mm of rain in the month of February.

On the other hand, the Civil Aviation Authority has issued a notice of suspension of flight operations to Gwadar Airport in view of the flood situation.

According to CAA, Gwadar Airport has been closed for flight operations due to flood situation, there is up to 6 inches of water in the apron, tarmac and other areas of the airport.
