Patients may suffer from insomnia due to Corona, research

Hanoi: A new study has found that three out of every four people with a mild Covid infection suffer from insomnia.

In a study conducted at the University of Phenica in Vietnam, researchers surveyed more than 1000 corona patients. The condition of these patients was not serious enough to admit them to the hospital.

In the survey, all these people were asked about sleep after illness. In which it was found that 75 percent of the people were suffering from insomnia while 20 percent of the people had severe insomnia.

The research also revealed that one in three people had trouble getting good quality sleep, and in addition to having trouble sleeping in short periods of time, most had difficulty falling asleep.

According to the researchers, patients suffering from anxiety or depression were more likely to suffer from insomnia during their illness.

Dr. Huang Hong, the lead author of the study, said that previous studies had seen a link between hospitalized Covid patients and insomnia, but the effect on the sleep of those mildly affected by the epidemic was not known. Not attempted.

A comparison of these studies showed that patients with mild infections were more likely to suffer from insomnia than both the general population and hospitalized Covid patients, the team of researchers said.

However, the researchers said more research is needed to find out more about the link between covid infection, mental health problems and insomnia.
