Quetta: Domestic and foreign currency worth more than one crore rupees was recovered from the passenger going to Sharjah.
According to the spokesperson of FIA, in the continuation of the crackdown against the group involved in currency smuggling, an attempt to smuggle a huge amount of foreign currency was foiled during a major operation at the airport of Commercial Banking Circle Quetta and FIA Immigration.
Upon receiving a tip-off, during a joint operation, the clothes of the accused were searched, and foreign currency was recovered from his shoes and bag, after which the accused Abdullah Gul was arrested from the departure lounge. The accused was going to Sharjah, from which a total of more than one crore domestic and foreign currency has been recovered.
21510 Australian Dollars, 10000 Saudi Riyals, 4000 Euros, 8450 Swiss Francs, 855 British Pounds, 1275 UAE Dirhams, New Zealand Dollars and other currencies have been exported.
FIA Commercial Banking Circle Quetta has arrested the accused and started the investigation and the scope of the investigation has also been widened regarding the involvement of other accused.
