Quetta: The Balochistan High Court allowed former caretaker provincial minister Jamal Raisani to contest the election.
According to the details, Jamal Raisani submitted nomination papers from National Assembly Constituency NA 264.
Jamal Raisani’s papers were objected by a citizen to remain part of the caretaker government and his name is not even in the voter list.
On this basis the Returning Officer rejected the papers and then the Tribunal upheld the decision. Later, Jamal Raisani filed an appeal in the Balochistan High Court against the tribunal’s decision.
A two-member bench of Balochistan High Court comprising Justice Rozi Khan and Justice Ijaz Swati heard the petition and allowed Jamal Raisani to contest the election as a NA-264 candidate.
It should be noted that Jamal Raisani was serving as the minister of sports and youth affairs in the caretaker government of Balochistan, but he resigned from his post before the election date was announced. Jamal Raisani will contest election from NA-264 constituency on PPP ticket.
