Where is it written that the disqualification will be for life? There is a way of repentance in Islam, Chief Justice

Islamabad: The Supreme Court has remarked that the criminal becomes eligible to contest the election after completing the sentence.

In the Supreme Court, the disqualification period case was heard under Article 62 One F.

The petitioner’s counsel argued that courts have the power to grant a declaration, in 2017 the Supreme Court held that a declaration can be granted when the facts are admitted.

The Chief Justice remarked that how can the Supreme Court give a declaration, how did the Supreme Court get this right, can the Supreme Court directly exercise the power of the Court of Law under Article 621F, can the Election Tribunal be disqualified for life? Can do, if the electricity bill is unpaid or if the bank defaults then there can be disqualification, the question is that the disqualification will be for life, where is it written, the rule of disqualification for life was laid down in Tusmeeullah Baloch case, is this true or not? The principle can be decided only after the trial, in Islam there is a way of repentance and returning to the straight path.

Justice Mansoor Ali Shah said that people involved in serious crimes are also eligible to contest the election after completing the sentence, both the articles related to eligibility are applicable before the election. But for the slightest mistake, disqualification for life!
