Khaled Longo Election Case; NAB is the facilitator of corruption, Chief Justice

Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faiz Isa has remarked during the hearing of Khalid Longo election case that NAB is a facilitator of corruption.

On the matter of Advisor for Finance Balochistan Khalid Longo participating in the general elections, the Supreme Court has ordered that the candidate cannot contest the election until the sentence is suspended. The court dismissed Khaled Longo’s plea on the grounds of withdrawal.

During the hearing, the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, remarked that truckloads of money were seized from the house of Khalid Humayun Longo. 2 billion 24 crore 91 lakh rupees were recovered from the house of Khalid Longo. Why was a lesser sentence of only 26 months given?

The petitioner’s lawyer told the court that Khalid Longo wants to contest the general elections. The decision should be suspended.

The Chief Justice said that such people from Balochistan should be kept away from contesting elections. Your client should go to the prison gate. Should elections be contested to steal more money from Balochistan? The Chief Justice while talking to the lawyer said in which world do you live?

The chief justice said that domestic and foreign currency recovered from the house were loaded on trucks and taken away. Such people are enemies of Balochistan. In the history of NAB, no one would have been punished so little. Please spare the people of Balochistan. Was the NAB under the control of your client who did not file an appeal? Not even a single road could be built in Balochistan. Such people have eaten Balochistan.

The Chief Justice remarked that if the person has so many connections that NAB is not filing an appeal. Look at the perfection of NAB, money was seized on account of trucks and no appeal was filed against lesser sentence. The money seized was not made from business or property. In small cases, NAB files an immediate appeal. NAB has become a facilitator of corruption.
