Karachi: The son of a senior government officer ran over a police officer with a car and ran away.
According to Express News, a case has been registered against the son of a senior civil servant of the Sindh Revenue Department for the incident of hitting a policeman with a car while performing his duties in the defense area.
On December 19, a high-speed vehicle hit between Defense Phase 8 Khayaban Babar and Khayaban Iqbal area of Sahil Police Station and seriously injured police officer Head Constable Mukhtiar Ahmed, who was posted at Sahil Police Station, who was immediately shifted to Jinnah Hospital. The video of the injured policeman went viral on social media, in which the injured policeman appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Chief Minister Sindh, Governor Sindh and IG Sindh to provide justice.
Late at night, the Sahil Police registered the incident case No. 24/1 under section 334G, 324, 186, 504 and 506 in the complaint of the injured policeman.
The injured officer told the police in his statement that on the night of December 19, he was patrolling the area with sub-inspector Ghaniur Rahman, driver police constable Abid and a black vehicle with official number plate GS 7137 between Defense Phase 8 Khayaban Babar and Khayaban Iqbal. She was standing in a suspicious state in the dark.
On the instructions of the police officer, he went to check the car and the person sitting on the driving seat in the car rolled down the car window. A girl was also sitting in the car. The driver told me his name Saqib Waseem son of Shamshad Ali and said that my father is Secretary Revenue Sindh, how did you manage to check my car? After that, he took his car to Khayaban Iqbal while selling me the goods and then came back and while driving his car at high speed negligently hit me with the intention of killing me and escaped. .
The official said that due to the collision of the vehicle, I became unconscious and my colleagues brought me to Jinnah Hospital, later I was shifted to a private hospital, legal action should be taken against the accused.
According to the police officials, the person in the vehicle that hit the official is not the son of the Secretary Revenue Sindh, but the son of a senior officer posted in Revenue Sindh. Unsuccessful, police are trying to arrest the accused.
