Aerial firing despite New Year ban in Karachi;  29 people including women and children were injured

The police arrested 30 suspects who fired in the air on New Year’s Night and registered 32 cases against them.

Karachi: On the occasion of New Year, the strict orders of Sindh IG Rifat Mukhtar Raja and Karachi Police Chief Khadim Rind were blown up by the citizens.

At 12 o’clock in the night, the city echoed with the sounds of intense aerial firing and fireworks. 29 people including women and children have been injured in different areas of the city due to blind bullets.

Young people came out on the highways on motorcycles, there was a severe traffic jam at most places due to the pressure of traffic, while the police arrested more than 38 people under various charges.

The situation of aerial firing was seen all over Karachi, most of the aerial firing was done by the citizens from the roofs of their houses, the areas where the most aerial firing was done are New Karachi, Sarjani Town, North Karachi, Kati Pahari, Pahar. Ganj, Gulshan Mimar, Sachal, Safora Goth, Gulistan Johar, Shah Faisal, Malir, Quaidabad, Model Colony, Korangi, Landhi, Ibrahim Hydari, Mahmoodabad, Chanesar Goth, Azam Basti, Defense View, Golimar, Pak Colony, Banaras, Orangi Town, Manghu Peer, Baldia Town, Site Super Highway, Site Area, Metro Vale, Sher Shah, Lyari, Liaquatabad, Soldier Bazar, Prani Sabzi Mandi, PIB Colony, Machar Colony, Kemari, Shireen Jinnah Colony. , Lines Area, Barzta Line Areas included.

There were orders from the top police officers that whoever was found involved in aerial firing would be booked under the provisions of attempted murder, but even this threat of the police could not restrain the shooters.

Among the people who were injured in the aerial firing were 40-year-old Noman son of Niaz, Adnan son of Umar, Rukhsar, Noma daughter of Asif, woman Ayesha wife of Imran, 7-year-old child Hasan, Alman son of Yusuf, Ali Raza and Shahzad son of Mujeeb, seven years old. Baby Saeem and others are involved.

Till 1:30 am on Sunday night, 9 patients were brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, 11 to Jinnah Hospital, 8 to Civil Hospital and 3 to two private hospitals, totaling 31.

On the other hand, the police have arrested 38 people and recovered weapons and other items.

The first case of this year has been registered in Khawaja Ajmer Nagri police station against two persons Tariq and Ghulam Abbas on charges of aerial firing on 1/24.

District Central Police arrested 8 accused, Korangi District 6, District East Police 7, Kemari Police 3, District South Police 8, City Police 3, Malir Police arrested 4 persons under aerial firing and other charges.
