Quetta: During the year 2023, FC Balochistan (North) foiled the smuggling of sugar, urea fertilizer, wheat and other illegal commodities and seized a large number of them.
In the year 2023, 3437 metric tons of sugar, 2441 metric tons of urea fertilizer, 324 metric tons of betel nuts, 71690 liters of diesel and 1378 metric tons of wheat were seized in the year 2023.
Smugglers were smuggling these items by hiding them in trucks and passenger buses which were foiled by FC Balochistan jawans taking timely action. These operations were carried out in Zhob, Pashin, Mastung, Nushki, Chaman, Dera Allah Yar and Pak-Afghan border areas. All the items have been seized and handed over to the customs authorities.
Smuggling of sugar and other commodities makes these commodities scarce and expensive and unavailable to people for consumption. Smugglers and vested interests want to save their smuggling by protesting but elements hostile to the state and the people will be crushed.
FC Balochistan will continue to take effective actions to prevent illegal trafficking. All resources will be used to provide relief to those who harmed the country’s economy and to the people suffering from inflation caused by smuggling.
