On the other hand, psychologists say that for getting ratings, likes and fame on social media, TikTokers and YouTubers do not even care about the privacy of others. Social media often features videos recorded by TikTokers and YouTubers in shopping malls and shopping malls, trying to talk to families, especially young women, who are shopping, while sometimes Videos are also made without the permission of the women present there.
A resident of Gulbarg, Lahore, said on condition of anonymity that she studies in a private university in Lahore. The administrators of a well-known shopping mall located in Johortown, Lahore, said that no one is allowed inside the mall with a camera without permission. If any TV channel, YouTuber or TikToker has to make a recording, they take prior permission from the mall administration and during this time it is ensured that no video or picture of any citizen is taken without permission and no If a citizen has a complaint in this regard, the security staff on duty immediately takes action.
Rana Naeem, who runs a business in the shopping mall, said that he has set up a photography stall here with birds and costumes used in the Ertugrul Ghazi drama. Often the representatives of TV channels, YouTubers and TikTokers come to them to make videos, so they first inform the management in writing about it and then the people who have to be talked to or their videos are to be made. Permission is also taken from them.
Psychologist Fatima Tahir says that this is a very important matter. There is a need to understand the psychology of both the video makers and the people whose videos are being made without permission. Most YouTubers ortic talkers take a shortcut to overnight fame and fortune. For this, families visiting shopping malls are soft targets because women are seen and heard more on social media.
On the other hand, many problems may arise for those whose videos are made without permission. Especially women who may not have come to tell their families, when their video is made, they go into trauma. If she is a married woman, her marital life may be affected.
According to legal experts, anyone who makes a video of any citizen without permission and shares it on social media can be punished up to 3 to 5 years and fined up to 50 lakh rupees or both.
Advocate Cyberlaws Zain Ali Qureshi while talking to Express said that under the Cybercrime Act and Pica Act it is a crime to make videos, photos and share them on social media without the permission of any citizen.
