Karachi: Chairman WAPD has said that the K4 project is very important for Karachi, delay will not be accepted in any case.
Chairman WAPD Sajjad Ghani visited the four project where he was given a detailed briefing regarding the construction work on the project.
Chairman WAPD Engineer Lieutenant General Sajjad Ghani said that K4 is an important project for Karachi, they are making every possible effort to complete it as per the schedule. 650 million gallons of drinking water per day will be supplied to Karachi from Kenjhar Lake. This project will be completed in two phases. WAPDA is currently constructing the first phase of the project, which is scheduled to be completed in October 2024. Thanks to the first phase of the project, Karachi will receive 260 million gallons per day. Water will be available, PC1 cost of the first phase of the project is 126 billion rupees, 40 billion rupees have been spent on the project so far.

Chairman Wapdane made a detailed visit to the various sites of the project, observed the ongoing construction work, the project management gave a briefing about the progress on the Chairman Wapdaku project, currently construction activities are going on at all the 8 sites of the project.
Chairman WAPDA said that timely provision of funds is very important to complete the project as per schedule, matters like timely expansion of power system and water distribution system required for the project are also of equal importance, so that the citizens of Karachi can benefit from this project.
