A system is developed to press the seeds thrown by drone into the soil

Pittsburgh: The seeds of various plants can be scattered by drones in difficult areas, but so far this dream could not be realized as the seeds did not go into the soil. Similarly, wind blows these seeds away or animals graze them. However, American experts have now placed the seeds in screw-like structures that are absorbed into the soil by rotating like a drill machine, and thus the bulbs begin to sprout.

Carnegie Mellon University professor Laning Yuao took this lesson from the Erodeum plant, which germinates in dry environments and hard soil. Its fine straw is full of seeds. In case of water or moisture, it straightens like a nail and turns and penetrates the soil and thus the seeds below go into the soil.

In exactly the same way, Dr. Lanning has made ‘e-seed’ from the chestnut tree because it is very sensitive to moisture. Its stalk has three tails (edges) and can stand upright if the ground is flat.

Scientists have taken it through five stages, including chemical washing, mechanical molding and seed filling. It should be noted that physics, mechanics, material science and dynamics were carefully noted in the development of the seed coat.

Experts have made a video of it and dropped it from a drone at a place. After that, as soon as the rain came, the i-seed straightened and rotated like the tip of a drill machine and settled into the ground. In this way, the seeds placed on the banks opened and sprouted from them. Experts have proved that these goals can be achieved by turning the seeds into a natural screw with the help of nature.
