California: Photo-sharing application Instagram’s sub-platform Threads has introduced a new hashtag-like feature ‘Tags’ to help label posts.
The ability to tag a topic on your post is being rolled out globally, Instagram head Adam Mosseri said in a post on Threads. So using this feature users can categorize their posts so that other users can easily find these posts and be part of the conversation.
According to the platform, this feature looks like a hashtag but doesn’t actually work like that. But only one tag can be used per post. However, it is slightly different from the hashtags used on social networking platforms X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook.
Hashtags will be used for tagging using the feature, but unlike X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, the words will appear as hyperlinked blue text instead of appearing with the hashtag.
