It may be noted that the department imports passport lamination paper from France, which is again delayed due to lack of dollars, due to which normal fee passports are being received after 2 months instead of 15 to 20 days. . The passport department is issuing passports on time only to urgent and fast track fee holders. The Passport and Immigration Agency earns an annual revenue of 120 to 150 billion rupees, yet could not buy lamination paper in time.
