Islamabad: The inclusion of Justice Ejaz-ul-Ahsan as a member of the Supreme Judicial Council was challenged in the Supreme Court.
In the matter of Supreme Judicial Council proceedings against Justice Mazahir Naqvi, Mian Dawood Advocate has filed a constitutional petition in the Supreme Court, challenging the inclusion of Justice Ijazul Ahsan as a member of the Supreme Judicial Council.
In the petition filed in the Supreme Court, the Federal Government and the Secretary Supreme Judicial Council have been made parties. The complete order sheet of the case of former CCPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar has also been filed along with the constitutional petition.
It has been argued in the petition that Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan was part of the Supreme Court bench which heard the case of Ghulam Mahmood Dogar under bench-fixing. The Supreme Court is requested to declare Justice Ejaz-ul-Ahsan’s participation in the Supreme Judicial Council as a violation of Article 10A and 9 of the Constitution.
