Karachi: In an oil shop in Kharadar, the stepfather sprinkled petrol on his son and set him on fire, who suffered severe burns and died during treatment.
In this regard, SHO Kharadar Police Station Abdul Rasheed Agha said that due to fire in Farooqi Oil Depot located near Shaheen Masjid in Kharadar area, one person was severely injured due to burns and was transferred to Civil Hospital Burns Ward in critical condition.
According to Abdul Rasheed Agha, the burnt person was identified as 24-year-old Abdullah son of Sultan who later succumbed to his injuries.
He said that during the initial investigation, it was found that the deceased was sitting in his shop when his stepfather Akbar came, who sprinkled petrol on Abdullah and set him on fire and fled from the spot. There was domestic strife between Akbar.
He said that the deceased Abdullah Lyari, while his stepfather is a resident of Orangi Town, in response to a question, SHO Kharadar said that the deceased in his statement before his death had held the stepfather responsible for the incident and the same. In the light of the statement, section 302 of murder will be included in the case.
According to Abdul Rasheed Agha, the police are actively looking for the stepfather of the accused, Akbar, who will be arrested soon.
