Men and women should be given equal business opportunities, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Peshawar: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali has said that men and women should be given equal business opportunities.

A two-day international conference on women’s empowerment and development was organized with the support of Sarhad Rural Support Program managed by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali attended the opening session on the first day of the World Conference as a special guest.

The governor distributed electronic tablets among the Afghan girls in the conference. The governor also inspected the exhibition of products made by Pakistani and Afghan women, encouraging women’s creativity and entrepreneurial interests.

In his address, the governor said that he has always told universities not to make degrees a means of getting jobs, men and women should be provided equal opportunities for business and trade.

He said that woman is the greatest person in the universe who has been given respect and protection and all rights by the religion of Islam. No one can give the position and status that Islam has given to women. Women should be in business. Be a partner and helper with your husband, parents, brothers, women are more fond of jewellery, polishing and cutting of precious stones, women should be trained.

Haji Ghulam Ali said that Gemstone is a very big market, women can be trained in this field to be able to do business, financial aid institutions should provide special scholarships for female students in the education sector.

The governor further said that Pak-Afghan Expo is going to be organized in which business opportunities and facilities will be provided to Pakistani and Afghan women.
