Lahore: Punjab Social Security has started a drive to recover dues from defaulters and a huge sum of Rs 50 crore has been recovered so far.
Social Security has also decided to take legal action against unregistered industrial units, housing schemes, educational institutions, factories and factories.
Commissioner Social Security Nadia Saqib told Express News that all such private companies employing five or more people come under the jurisdiction of Punjab Employees Social Security and they are legally required to register themselves with this organization. . The owners of industrial and commercial establishments deposit 6% of the salary of their workers (whose salary ranges from Rs 22,000 to Rs 25,000) to the Social Security Department, which provides medical benefits to the workers along with financial incentives. are done If an organization fails to register, it can be fined.
He said that the family and parents of the workers of social security registered institutions are provided treatment facilities by social security, 24 big, 3 small hospitals, 50 medical centers, 131 dispensaries and 76 emergency centers have been established. The institution is also providing the facility of treatment abroad to the registered workers as and when required.
Nadia Saqib further said that in case of the death of a worker, funeral and burial, financial support during Eid-ul-Fitr, daily food supply during treatment, hospital fare for patients, maternity benefits for female workers. Apart from expenses, medical treatment in case of accident and lifetime pension, financial assistance is also provided under various headings.
He also said that more than 11 lakh workers are being given Punjab Mazdoor Cards by Punjab Social Security and their bank accounts have been opened. This card offers 11 types of facilities to workers, it can also be used as an ATM card, workers can not only swipe the card at shops and stores but also at more than 150 trade/commercial points. You can also get 5 to 30 percent discount.
Apart from this, benefit mobile application has been implemented across Punjab, the mobile application has saved the registered workers from unnecessary rounds of offices. They will upload their applications with complete details on the app, within 10 days they will get the funds through their bank account.
Despite these facilities, there are still hundreds of institutions, especially private schools, factories, factories, stores, where more than five people work, but they are not registered with Social Security, while the number of such registered institutions is also quite high. but for the past many years they are not depositing the contribution fund of their employees due to which the employees working in these institutions are facing difficulties in getting the facilities.
According to the Social Security officials, for the first time in history, the Mazdoor Khushal campaign has been launched to collect dues from long-standing defaulting industrial and commercial enterprises registered with Social Security. In this regard, special teams have been formed across Punjab to collect dues. Special teams established in 22 Directorates of Social Security across Punjab are conducting operations for recovery of dues and so far a historic recovery of more than 500 million (Rs. 50 crores) has been made from the defaulting units.
Commissioner Social Security Nadia Saqib is personally monitoring the special recovery teams. For the first time in the history of Punjab Social Security, large-scale action against defaulters has been initiated. Reports on operations are being received from Field Directors on daily basis.
Nadia Saqib says that indiscriminate action is being taken against the defaulters and has issued orders to the directors to meet the monthly social security contribution targets in any case. Recovery of dues from 50 major defaulters is being implemented from each area officer’s area across Punjab. Dues are being collected from industrial units, housing societies, private schools, hotels and other commercial units.
