California: Meta’s subsidiary application WhatsApp continues to introduce features for users. After recently introducing a password feature to keep chats private, the company has started testing a new feature.
According to the WhatsApp beta info, the messaging platform has started testing a username feature for users’ accounts that will allow users to use a username instead of a phone number to contact the desired person.
This feature, which is in the final stages of completion, is currently offered to beta users for testing.
According to a screenshot shared by WhatsApp Beta Info, WhatsApp’s search bar can be used to search for usernames.
Experts say that after the introduction of this feature by WhatsApp, communication between users will be easier and they will be able to do so without sharing the number.
