Application of Afghans marrying Pakistanis approved

Peshawar: The court approved the request for origin card of Afghans marrying Pakistanis.

In the High Court, Justice Arshad Ali and Justice Waqar Ahmed heard the applications filed by Afghans for Pakistan Origin Card for marrying Pakistanis, in which Additional Attorney General Sanaullah appeared on behalf of the Federation. During the hearing, Saifullah Mohib Kakakhil, Advocate appeared in court on behalf of the petitioners.

The Additional Attorney General told the court that the petitioners should apply according to law, to which the petitioner’s counsel argued that any foreigner can get all the rights of a Pakistani citizen through a POC card. A POC card holder cannot hold a passport and vote.

Later, the Peshawar High Court approved the applications of 109 Afghans and ordered them to be issued Pakistan Origin Cards under the NADRA Act.
