Karachi: Sindh Building Control Authority failed to demolish illegal constructions in the city, even the court orders could not be implemented, large scale illegal constructions are going on in the city.
Sources say that the series of illegal constructions in Achi is not stopping due to which water and sewage problems are increasing day by day in different areas, the High Court issued continuous orders. There are plans to demolish the illegal constructions, but the SBCA seems unable to implement it.
Highly reliable sources say that the SBCA had started a series of demolitions in the city, but based on this fear, the Gurkha raid was allegedly started. BCA Building Inspector, Senior Building Inspector, Assistant Director, Director and higher-ranking officers were allegedly conniving and the illegal constructions were not demolished.
Due to this, illegal constructions were encouraged and after a period of hiatus, illegal constructions started again in the city.
Several orders were issued by the High Court to demolish the illegal constructions in Lia Ri and Liaquatabad, but it could not be implemented.
The SBCA officials said that the buildings were not vacated by the Deputy Commissioners, so the illegal buildings could not be demolished.
Sources say that the SBCA authorities have not demolished more than one and a half hundred illegal buildings in Kir Achi in the last three to four months, while thousands of illegal constructions have been demolished in the city. The series is going on which is allegedly sponsored directly or indirectly by the SBCA officers.
In this regard, DGSBCA Ishaq Khoro was contacted and he did not receive the call.
