Peshawar: Online hearing facility for prisoners has been inaugurated in Central Jail.
Caretaker Provincial Minister for Prisons and Social Welfare Justice (retd) Irshad Qaiser inaugurated the facility of online hearing of cases for prisoners in Central Jail Peshawar. On this occasion, he said that with the facility of online hearing in the jail, security concerns and petrol expenses can be controlled to a great extent.
He said that the accused arrested in serious cases will now be able to appear in the courts through online appearance. Bail and release decisions will be received online by the jail administration. The caretaker provincial minister said that the work on the renovation of the jails is going on. Renovation of 4 jails including Peshawar Jail has been completed.
The caretaker provincial minister said that along with reforms in prisons, work is also going on to provide training, treatment and other facilities to prisoners. The inmates are being taught various skills in the jail, through which they will be able to start their own business and stay away from wrongdoing after coming out of the jail. Jails are being upgraded to modern technology for the betterment of inmates.
