Markets will open after 3 pm
Lahore: In 6 districts of Punjab, it has been decided to give Friday and Saturday holiday in educational institutions and to open markets after three o’clock.
Speaking to the media after the meeting of the cabinet committee held for the remedy of smog, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that educational institutions will remain closed on Friday and Saturday in 6 divisions including Lahore, markets, restaurants and business establishments will open after three o’clock. All markets and institutions will be closed on Sundays, government offices will be open on Fridays, and will be open after 3pm on Saturdays.
Mohsin Naqvi said that if there are clouds suitable for rain on November 29, artificial rain will be given, 10,000 students in Lahore will be given electric bikes on subsidy, government employees will also be given e-bikes on lease.
He said that entry of vehicles will be closed on Mall Road on Sunday, only bicycles will be allowed, because of the impact of smog on Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Multan and Sahiwal divisions, the decisions will be implemented.
Mohsin Naqvi further said that an MoU has been signed to install air filters towers in Lahore, it has been decided to double the sprinkling of water on the roads to reduce smog, people should adhere to masks.
