Peshawar: The Peshawar High Court has said that all political parties are holding rallies but one party is banned, political parties are holding rallies but the Deputy Commissioners do not have any problem, but if a party applies, Section 144 is imposed.

According to Express News, a hearing was held again in the Peshawar High Court on the petition of contempt of court after the PTI was not given convention permission. Advocate General and counsel for the petitioner appeared.

Advocate General said that a meeting of Deputy Commissioners, DPOs has been held, SOPs for conventions and meetings have been prepared in the meeting, all the political parties have to apply first and then according to the SOPs the meetings or Conventions can be made.

Justice Ejaz Anwar said that everyone should be given equal opportunities now that elections are taking place.

Ali Zaman Advocate, the petitioner, said that we have applied many times but we are not being allowed, while Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Siraj-ul-Haq has held a big meeting in Peshawar.

Justice Ijaz Anwar said that the problem is that the rest of the political parties are holding rallies but one party is banned, our concern is that the rest of the political parties are holding rallies. It takes 144.

Advocate General said that there are reports that there are serious threats to law and order, some political parties and leaders are facing serious threats.

Justice Ejaz Anwar said that we want the election to be held in a peaceful manner, if you continue to follow these reports like this, then the election will not be held.

Advocate Shah Faisal Advocate said that we will apply to allow us to hold the meeting tomorrow.

Justice Ijaz Anwar said that the government has now made SOPs according to which you apply, no one is allowed to hold a rally on the road, if any political party is allowed on the road, action will be taken against the deputy commissioner. .

Justice Shakeel Ahmed said that the rallies should be held but the roads should not be blocked, the political parties should present their manifesto and those who want to vote should vote for them.

The Advocate General said that they should take an oath as per the SOPs that they will not speak against the institutions.

The petitioner’s lawyer said that they will not allow us again.

The court said that the SOPs have come and now it is part of the record, after the expiry of section 144 you apply.

The lawyer petitioner said that the lawyer who applied for the convention is being harassed, the court said that the concerned police officer is called for the next hearing, you should apply as per the SOPs and criticize the institutions so much. Don’t do it.

Later, the court adjourned the hearing till November 29.
