Lahore High Court outraged over the de-sealing of polluting factories and kilns

Lahore: In the case of smog, the Lahore High Court expressed its displeasure over the de-sealing of smoke-emitting factories and furnaces, saying that if action is taken against one or two officers, the rest will take care of themselves.

According to Express News, a hearing was held on the petitions filed in the Lahore High Court to control smog. Justice Shahid Karim heard the petitions of citizen Haroon Farooq and others. During the hearing, the court expressed displeasure over the de-sealing of factories and kilns that emit polluted smoke.

The court said which officers de-sealed? Name them, court will take action against them against peda act, action will be taken against one or two officers then all others will be fine.

During the hearing, the court asked the agriculture department for a report on superseded for crop residues, the court inquired that in which areas did the farmers use superseded for crop residues? The Punjab government said that 40 officers of Nankana have been suspended over the issue of crop burning.

Meanwhile, the issue of working from home two days a week was also discussed. The Vakil Member Commission said that according to the government, the work-from-home notification for two days of the week will be issued after some time.

The court was told that Lahore is being made signal-free, on which the court termed this process as dangerous. Justice Shahid Karim said that efforts are being made to make Lahore signal-free, it is a very dangerous job, Utern is not known on the streets, the project to make Jail Road signal-free has failed.

Later, the court adjourned the hearing till Friday.
